Two Months Preceding The Events Of Othello

Two Months Preceding The Events Of Othello

Enter Cassio, Montano, Lodovico, and Gratiano

Cassio: Well, I guess it's time to see you off, gentlemen.

Lodovico: It is time indeed. I will be sure to give the duke your documented reports on the wellbeing of the island and the accounts of the murders.

Montano: Yes we will be sure. Now, I must fetch my things and prepare for the ships’ arrival.

Enter Privateer, visibly panicked

Privateer: Sir Cassio, a fleet approaches. They have reciprocated not the friendly shot. We’ve reason to believe it's the Turks.

Cassio: The Turks? that’s impossible! They were wiped out by the storm!

Privateer: Tis true, Sir. There is word the storm nearly pushed them off course, but here they come, Sir!

Montano: My god! We’re doomed!

Lodovico: Indeed! We haven’t nearly enough men and I have a ship scheduled to sail back to Venice! I haven't any proper preparations.

Cassio: Would it not be best to have you sail to Venice and have the duke supply more men?

Lodovico: Aye, sir. That would be the best course of action, but they might not arrive quick enough. Quick! You, there! Privateer! Send word to the people and tell them to prepare themselves.

Privateer: Quick! The Turks are coming! The Turks are coming! Prepare thy swords! Prepare thy arrows! I say, the Turks are coming!

Privateer runs into the street, shouting

Cassio: All right. Lodovico, my friend, I need you to prepare your ship and bring back more men as quick as you can.

Lodico: We should be ready to sail the day after tomorrow, sir.

Cassio: No. I need you to sail tonight. Tomorrow morning at the absolute latest.

Lodovico: But I won’t have time to get all the necessary supplies together.

Cassio: Then, if you must, cut your supplies in half. Prepare to sail to the Venice at once.

Montano: I will go rally the island’s army and the remaining Venetians.

Cassio: I shall join you.

Montano: No. You must prepare army supplies. You are the general now.

Cassio: True. After the incident with Othello, I hold the duties and responsibilities of general.

3 days later; View Iago in Cyprus prison

Iago, internally: Tis almost time for the execution of my revenge. I will make good to show the world the last of my dues and hence curse them. No. Not them. Him . It is all his fault. He has been rumored to have slept with my wife. He stole the job that was rightfully mine and failed to die at the blunt of my blade. And worst of it, it's him who has left me to rot amongst the rats.

Iago: i will make him suffer. I will do to him ten times the suffering that I gave upon the moor. Michael Cassio. The bastard shall suffer.

Cassio, greeting arriving Venetian soldiers and Noblemen
Enter Bianca, Montano and Ceciliana

Bianca: Cassio, haven't you a moment of time?

Cassio, chuckling: Not a single moment, for I am meeting with Montano, along with a lady of high class and standing from Venice. I do not wish to be seen with a prostitute.

Bianca: How dare you accuse me of being a whore and after i come all the way here just to please you.

Montano: Cassio my dear friend I would like to introduce you to Lady Ceciliana.

Ceciliana: So you must be the grate Cassio everyone speaks of.

Cassio: Tis a pleasure to make the acquaintance of such a fine women.

Ceciliana: Why Thank you.

Cassio: My pleasure.

Montano: So Cassio good man how shall we deal with the Turks?

Cassio: I think it would be best to take 500 of the new soldiers arriving from Venice and take half around to the other side of cyprus were the turks are setting up camp and leave the rest here to guard the people

Montano: Do you plan on leading an abush?!

Cassio: Indeed I do it seems best to strike while the Turks still believe they have the element of surprise

Montano: Alright I will do my best to assist you on you sege against the turks

Cassio: Good I’m going to need a right hand man

Ceciliana: pardon me but brother is there not some other way i fear to lose you

Montano: mind yourself and all will be fine this is war and i must act tis crucial for venice and the people of Cyprus that not a single soldier lay away from the battle

Cassio: now that i take it into consideration i will need someone to lead the 250 soldiers i am leaving here to protect the public do you think that you are up to the job old friend

Montano: of course but are you sure? It will be difficult to lead a siege on the turkish camp on your own with no more than 250 men

Cassio: ae that is nonsense i will be able to handle it however i will need you to send for someone to oversee the naval fleet in case the turks attack from the sea

Montano: i will get to it sir

Montano exits leaving Ceciliana and Cassio alone

Cassio: now my dear lady you should be off tis late and these streets are no place for a women to be at night

Ceciliana: yes i shall be on my way sir but first i must thank you for offering my brother the position here instead of with you. It was very good of you sir.

Cassio: think not of it dear Ceciliana I trust Montano and i know he will do good to oversee the soldiers keeping watch hear

Ceciliana: Yes I'm sure he will I have the utmost respect for my brother.

Ceciliana exits

Transitioning is hard skip to the whore Bianca

Bianca talking to herself: Now that the others have left I have a chances to spy on my beloved Cassio. Oh he loves me he is just unaware of it yet. I must think of a way to make him see how much he loves me.

Bianca starts to walk away and passed by the prison only to hear a familiar sound

Bianca still talking to herself: My that whistle sounds all too familiar. Iago.

Bianca: Not so honest Iago is that you?

Iago: *confused whistle*

Bianca: Tis me Bianca!

Iago, stops whistling and pulls his shackles and looks up through the cell window at Bianca

Bianca: Well aren't you a sight for sore eyes. How have you been.

Iago:*whistles*

Bianca:Well that doesnt help me much. Hey you where the one that hurt my sweet Cassio!

Iago: hmm *shrugs nonchalantly*

Bianca: You're one of the reasons my poor sweet Cassio doesn't want to marry me. You and that strange girl that was with him earlier.

Iago: (has a new plan of how to get revenge on Cassio) *shakes his head as if he was saying no and dramatically place his hand over his mouth as if offended*

Bianca:If not your fault then who's?

Iago:* motions for her to come nearer*

Bianca:*walks closer* What?

Iago:* Whispers menacingly* the moor was to blame

Bianca:The moor is dead I wish to blame someone who is alive!

Iago: *Whispering* Then you must take it out on those whom he manipulated into trusting him my dear

Bianca:What is that supposed to mean?

Iago: *whispers* Montano and Lodovico they were close to the more and the moor was to blame for it all

Bianca: Then I shall keep an eye on Montano and that whore that was all over my sweet Cassio.

Bianca exits

Iago in his head: ( What a turn of events this has come to i shall use this to my advantage i shal use that nitwit whore to my own personal game soon she shall be beggin for my help and she will help me escape thin i may finally finish off Cassio once and for all “My sweet Cassio’’ will be no more.)

Bianca finds Cassio and Ceciliana talking and starts listening in on the conversation

Cassio: So sweet Ceciliana tell me more about you I wish to know everything.

Ceciliana: Oh my Cassio your coming on a strong aren't you?

Cassio: Why nonsense dear I’m simply curious about such a divine lady as yourself.

Ceciliana: Tis it not true sir Cassio that curiosity killed the cat?

Cassio: such is true my lady but you forget that curiosity may have killed the cat but sweet satisfaction brought it back.

Ceciliana *blushing*: oh my! Michael Cassio you dog, are you like this with every girl you meet?

Cassio: Not at all miss Im like this only with the best and may i confess that you are just that. (kisses her hand) .

Bianca outside spying on them

Bianca:*sees what is going**whisping* how dare she try to make a move on Cassio and how dare he let her! The wretched whore i shall not let this Ceciliana woman still my Cassio! I need a plane to get rid of her but what shall i do?

Bianca: I've got it. If anyone knows how to orcatstate ones demise it’s Iago. I shall go to him.

Transition to Iago alone in his sell

Iago: it is a a shame i can do nothing more that what i am doing now but i just know that the whore will come to me again soon.may plan to wreak hell upon the moor my have spat at me but i intend to ruin that fool cassio i put my life on it and all that i am worth to making sure he receives his dues.
